NIFTY 50 EMA regime right now.

Three things drive the regime call: (a) whether the fast EMA is above or below the slow EMA, (b) the slope of the slow EMA across the last 5 bars, and (c) whether price is on the trend side of the fast EMA. All three must agree for a directional regime — otherwise it's Ranging and EMA crossovers stop being reliable.

How to use NIFTY 50's regime call

Trending Bull / Bear

EMA crossovers in the trend direction tend to follow through. Breakouts in the trend direction sustain. Mean-reversion shorts (in a bull) or longs (in a bear) bleed.

Ranging

EMAs whipsaw — every other crossover is a false signal. The realistic strategies in this regime are range-fade or premium selling, not trend continuation.
